NSR PR
With three feature wins
credited to the team at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway this
season, Nathan Smee Racing returned to their home track for
round six of the TPCR championship. Vying to add to his ever
growing speedway resume, Smee took to the circuit for his first
heat from a rear position.
On the charge at the drop of
the green, Nathan began to work his way through the field
utilising every line across the circuit. Making his way to his
familiar high line, the Kingsfeld Excavation and Haulage
Speedcar 6 began to make inroads on the leaders.
Running a tight race with his
fellow competitors in the opening laps, Smee stuck to the high
line and shot into turn three in a battle for heat placings.
Entering turn four the NSR campaign took a turn for the worse as
a car dove underneath and quickly moved up track striving for
the same track position. With the two cars making contact at
speed, Nathan was caught out and sent on a wild ride with the
car launching skywards.
Capturing more than enough
air time for any racer, the car rolled before landing heavily in
a damaged state directly in front of his team watching on the
hill. Shaken up, Nathan stepped out of the vehicle on his own
accord before his battered race car was transported back to the
pits. With extensive damage to the car,
NSR head back to the workshop this
weekend to assess the total repairs needed knowing round 5 of
the SSS and the prestigious Australian Speedcar Championship are
just around the corner.
