Without a ride for the 05-06 season, Nathan Smee’s
racing aspirations had all but vanished. Fortunately for
the crowd pleaser, 04-05 Bikebiz Speedcar track champion
Michael Pope had other ideas.
Due to current business commitments Michael Pope has
withdrawn from the 6 round Speedcar Super Series, but to
prove his total support to Ken Jenkins and the running
of the SSS, he has handed his immaculate new Stealth/Ed
Pink machine over to former Qld Speedcar Champion,
Nathan Smee.
Long time friendly rivals through Litre Sprints and
Speedcars, Pope and Smee have consistently raced wheel
to wheel as two big-gun front runners constantly on the
charge.
“I thought I was going to be sitting on the hill
watching this year so I’m rapt that Popey rang and
offered his car for the SSS this week” said Smee.
In further news, not only is Smee running the SSS but he
is also set to compete in a number of local Bikebiz
Motorcycle Track Championship rounds with the Pope
Advantage Tyres Team recently purchasing another brand
new stealth chassis and second Ed Pink engine for the
Pope/Smee union.
Look for the two cars of Michael Pope – both are
guaranteed to have the crowd on their feet!
