Four
Speedcar Super Series drivers
recently competed in the 4 round International
Midget Tests in New Zealand. Teams representing
Australia, the United States and New Zealand
were formed to race two shows at Springs Speedway,
Auckland and Powerbuilt Speedway, Christchurch.

Series stars were
on display with our current SSS Championship leaders
running various events. Michael Pickens, Mark Brown,
Adam Clarke and Nathan Smee all competing on Kiwi
soil.
Racing against
some of the finest drivers in the world, teams were
formed for the overall points win. Representing
Australia: Mark Brown, Nathan Smee, Adam Clarke &
Captain Brett Morris. Representing the USA: Scott
Hatton, Danny Stratton & Davey Ray. Representing NZ:
"The Young Guns" Steven Currie, Brad Mosen & Carl
Worboys and "The Masters" Shaun Insley, Tony Fabish
& Graham Standring.
Any SSS success?
YES, Michael Pickens claimed victory in the 30 Lap
World Derby on Night 1, with Clarke & Smee scoring
valuable points for the Australian Team. Clarke and
Brown dominated the heats on Night 2 extending the
Aussie lead in the 4 round tests. On Night 3, Clarke
stepped into the A17 of Brett Morris at Powerbuilt
Speedway, finishing in 3rd behind Davey Ray and Mark
Brown respectively. Smee rolled out of the feature
while running the 3rd lap, but the Aussies continued to
dominate the points table. Returning on Night 4,
Smee was back along with Mark Brown and Brett
Morris. With a close and competitive A main 50 lap
feature, Mark Brown challenged for the lead
finishing in the 3rd spot behind American Scott
Hatton in first and New Zealand's Brad Mosen.
Crowned the
overall victors - Australia's Mark Brown, Nathan
Smee, Adam Clarke & Brett Morris became the first
Australian team to win in the International Midget
Tests 25 year history.
Join the SSS in
congratulating our drivers!
