If the old adage
is true that hard work will get you the things you
desire, the team at McAllan Motorsport is not far
away from good things.
We raced at
Kwinana on the 21st of Jan and then
headed for Parramatta, Sydney. We lined up for the
Champion of Champions full of confidence even though
the car was slightly down on power. Dene drove the
wheels of the car only to have engine failure take
us out in the second heat while leading.

The team worked
hard all week having only one day off to get both
cars fully prepared for round 4 of the SSS. Once
again we had one of those nights. Dene went out for
time trials in the second group only to watch the
track come in and be pushed down to around high 20’s
in time. Dene did all he could to get two 3rd
placings in his heats but that still put him in the
B main. As the lights went green our night was over,
the engine had some problem and we were back to the
drawing board for the Aussie title.
The team had a
little time to play tourists but we were firmly set
on getting up the front in the big one. Night one of
the title was a good one, with excellent racing and
a great feeling in the pits. It has to be any
Motorsport fans heaven with that much high-class
equipment to be seen. We finished the night in ninth
position and very happy.
Night two was
once again great racing, Dene finished 3rd
in his heat even with a broken left rear shock. He
qualified 8th overall out of 60 cars,
which is a great achievement in its self.
Unfortunately we had the old motor in, which is a
little down on hp now, and we didn’t get the set up
right on the track that we finished with. Dene
finished on the board as 14th .
Congratulations
to Davey Ray and the Steve Smith team on a great
win.
The McAllan
Motorsport team would like to thank Ben Weise and
his family for making our trip that little bit more
enjoyable. We would also like to thank our extended
family for all their help and support over the two
weeks we were in Sydney. We would also like to thank
the Graham family and wish Steven a speedy recovery.
See you in Mildura.
