The
Speedcar Super Series resurfaced in 2005-2006 led by
Director Ken Jenkins with the full support of major
sponsors American Tire & Racing Services and Breka
Chassis.
Six Rounds of hardcore Speedcar Racing with drivers
and teams travelling from State to State over five
months starting in November 2005.
In
total, 65 different drivers competed in the Speedcar
Super Series; 5 American's, 3 New Zealander's and 57
drivers from around Australia.
Ten drivers competed in all six rounds to qualify
for the overall Championship Prize pool with
numerous competitors racing three shows or more;
Sydney drivers Nathan Smee and Darren Jenkins both
competed in 5 of 6 shows, Mark Cooper ran 4 with his
#7 machine competing at every round with other
drivers behind the wheel (Darren Jenkins and Jerry
Coons Jnr).
Over 6 Rounds, 37875 points were awarded in the
Speedcar Super Series features. With the total prize
money and championship pool totalling close to
$100,000 - this is a series of races built to return
funds straight back to the competitors pockets.
Keeping in check with the SSS rule book, Stephen
Brown drove the N6 at Charlton for Matt Young and
Nathan Smee drove the WA25 for Dene McAllan at
Speedway City, when both contracted drivers were
unavailable to compete. Race meetings were
controlled by Chief Steward Leigh Clayton along with
local club/track officials who all worked towards a
smooth running show.
The travelling was intense with the McAllan
Motorsport team from WA taking out the most
kilometres travelled, followed closely by Seamount
flying in and out of New Zealand.
