As teams and drivers
prepare for the first round of the national Speedcar
Super Series at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway on
November 3rd, the fans have been asking… Who will be on
the road this season? Today SSS Director Ken Jenkins has
released a list of contracted drivers that will not
disappoint!
Returning to lead the charge is last season’s front-end
challengers Mark ‘Browndog’ Brown and West Australian
young-gun Dene McAllan! This duo put on some of the most
spectacular one on one battles over the 06-07 season and
are looking set to return to their furious pace this
series!
Likewise making their return to the tour are the likes
of Troy & Darren Jenkins, Peter Bourke and recent TPCR
feature winner Brett Morris from NSW. Victoria are also
submitting two of their best with Peter Ghent Jnr and
Troy Jordan both making a welcome return to the road, as
is QLD’s own Grant Draney and South Aussie Ben Wiese!
Joining the fold this season are newcomers to the series
including the ‘Flying Pom’ Tony Abson in his 07 Chili
Bowl Spike/Esslinger, South Australia’s own John McKay,
West Aussie Midget rookie racer Brett Matherson, QLD’s
front-running Ken Stanaway and New South Welshman
Brendon Fox in the immaculate Showpiece Signs machinery.
“In all honesty this is going to a tough series with the
number of talented drivers contracting” says Ken. “As
always Browndog & Dene will be hard to beat but we’re
seeing the return of some big guns Morris, Ghent,
Bourkie, Draney… Then add in the SSS newcomers such as
Abson, Stanaway & the like and you can see how tough
claiming a win is going to be!”
