As series Director Ken
Jenkins makes the final preparations on the upcoming
2008-2009 Speedcar Super Series, a new driver incentive
has been added to the SSS prize pool.
Open to all new competitors who will compete as
contracted drivers in the six round Speedcar Super
Series, the challenge has been set courtesy of Peter
Ghent of Ghent Automotive Repairs, Victoria.
"The Speedcar Super Series is honoured to be associated
with Ghent Automotive Repairs and their new award of the
Rookie of the Year,” said Ken Jenkins. "The drivers,
sponsors, owners and crew members that make up the teams
competing for this title represent the future of
Speedcar racing in this country.”
While some are self-admittedly thrill seekers who can't
wait for the season to be begin, others are established
thrill providers who can vie for a starting position in
any A main SSS feature event, possibly even win!
The question needs to be asked; will an SSS rookie racer
reach victory lane on a Speedcar Super Series Saturday
night?
"With new drivers contracting to the Speedcar Super
Series, the challenge will be an intense battle towards
the Ghent Automotive Rookie of the Year."
The driver who is bestowed the title will be rewarded
with the Ghent Automotive Rookie of the Year trophy, a
$200 cash bonus and a NASCAR jacket.
