In stellar style, Nathan Smee
stormed back into victory lane last night at Tyrepower
Parramatta City Raceway
capturing A main glory in front of a bumper Boxing Day crowd!
Racing deep on the low line, Smee moved from an eleventh start
position superbly sweeping his way to the lead in the fifteen
lap event.
Moving up track at the drop
of the green from position nine, Nathan was on the move in heat
number one. Screaming into the first corner and passing around
the outside high on turn two, the Fairford Autos Smash Repairs
Speedcar 6 had steadily grabbed positions early in the 8 lap
race.
With the bunch packed between fourth and tenth, a stoppage with
4 laps remaining was well received with Nathan now in 3rd,
jumping on the gas and shooting to the high line to claim 2nd
along
the back straight. Hunting for first place, Smee tailed the car,
sliding low into turn one and under the race leader with 3 laps
remaining. Pulling away from the pack, Smee had secured his first
win for the night.
Out of tenth in his second
heat, Smee again took to the high line to move forward; running
four wide in through first two corners.
Heading into turn three, Nathan was trapped on the outside of a
car exiting the track. Moving off the race line to avoid
contact, he re-took to the circuit in last after losing valuable
positions. Chasing the leaders, Nathan had progressed back to
7th when the race was declared with only 4 laps completed on
the board.

Starting from a challenging eleventh starting grid in the
feature race, the heat was on for Nathan Smee Racing to advance
to the front in only 15 short laps. Taking to the low line on a
slick racing surface, Smee began his ascent to the podium.
Moving up into 9th within the opening laps and progressing
further through the field in a steady pace, Smee jumped under
two cars into turn 2 and grabbed their placings. A yellow light
stoppage regrouped the field, with Nathan secure in the top five
with eleven laps remaining.
On the
charge on the restart, Smee swept up into second along the back
straight before the yellows were pulled for a spinning car.
Placed back in 3rd for the restart, the greens glowed around
the track with Nathan sticking to the low line waiting to pounce on
any mistakes. Driving hard into turn 3, he cleanly slipped
into 2nd and with 9 laps left on the board, began his pursuit of the race
leader.

Tailing the back of the leading race car, and again driving hard
into the turn 3, he swiftly manoeuvred his machine under the
leader to steal first position with 8 laps to go. On a mission
for the win, Smee steered around the clayway claiming the
fastest lap of the entire feature once he hit the lead. Hugging
the low line, Smee extended his lead until the yellows flew with
3 intense laps remaining.
Smartly
protecting the race line and his lead, Nathan stayed low when
the race recommenced. With glimpses of his competition, Nathan
held under pressure and attack from the field to cross the line
in first place claiming his third feature win of the season!
With this feature adding to
Nathan's racing resume;
the victory has also placed a thrilled engine owner (Terry King
of Dominator Engines) and Fontana Engines in the Australian
racing history books;
Fontana engines are now listed as the most successful engine in
Parramatta City Raceways 25 year history!
Nathan Smee Racing now travel to country New South Wales to
compete in the fourth round of the Speedcar Super Series at
Gilgandra Speedway. Head to the pits this Saturday night,
December 30th
and check out Speedcar 6!
