With 22 scheduled events
pencilled in on the 2006-2007 race calendar including the
Australian Speedcar Championship, the Australian Grand Prix, the
TPCR Track Championship, 50 Lap Classic and the Speedcar Super
Series; Nathan Smee has flown to the USA in preparation for the
upcoming season.
Departing late last week, along with crew members Joel, Dean and
fellow racer Tim Evans, Smee has headed to America’s heart of
midget racing; Sun Prairie’s Angell Park Speedway to watch
America’s finest drivers at their best!
Based at Bmara midget racer Rob 'the Rocket' Keelan’s Wisconsin
home, the Australian troupe will travel to the Belleville
Nationals this weekend before heading to Indiana to check out
the Brickyard and midget racetracks. A regular attendee at
Angell Park each Sunday night, Smee is happy to compete if an
opportunity arises over the next month.
Purchasing a stealth chassis
at the end of the 05-06 season, the Nathan Smee Racing team have
finalised their race package and progress is underway on the
Speedcars rebuild. The USA trip is the prime opportunity to
update parts, race equipment and if the chance develops; get
some track time before the hectic Australian season begins.
