The heat was on at the first race meeting in the 2006-2007 Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway Speedcar Track Championship where Nathan Smee Racing finished fourth in the fast and furious Speedcar Feature.

It was three cars wide in the first heat when Nathan; starting from seventh position, shot into a gap to move towards the front. Dicing on the low line, Smee had progressed to 3rd within the first few laps before a clash between the front-runners allowed the Stealth/Fontana #6 to slide into second for the chequered flag.

Utilising what seemed to be the entire track during his second heat, Smee stormed to the highline at the drop of the green from the outside eighth starting position. With only eight short laps to grab the lead, Nathan manoeuvred through traffic around the highline, dropping low to capture 2nd before an orange light stoppage halted the race, relegating him back to 3rd. Slipping into second on the restart, a wheel to wheel battle ensued for the lead. Sliding under the leader in turn 4 and level pegged entering turns 1 and 2, Smee held onto a no guts no glory attitude; his foot planted on the accelerator to take the lead around the outside and claim the victory in heat two.

Starting near the rear in the A Main where the fastest start from the back of the pack, Smee quickly moved through the field to sixth place with only three laps completed. Picking off cars ahead of him as the race progressed, Smee hit the top five as a superb battle began with a fellow competitor. Swapping positions and racing across all lines of the circuit, the duo raced wheel to wheel showcasing the close action in the Speedcar ranks.

Smee shot into third before running up track in lapped traffic allowing the challenger to relegate him into 4th. Fighting back, Smee screamed to the low-line recapturing the position only to drop back to 4th after wheel standing out of turn two. The chequers dropped only a few laps later with the Nathan Smee Racing team fourth overall in the intense 20 lap feature.
